ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS
Flashlight Learning complies with the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) and other California laws applicable to your data. The purposes for which Flashlight Learning collects your information, the categories and specific types of information, and our practices and policies regarding the processing of your information are described below and in our Privacy Policy.
WHAT INFORMATION DOES FLASHLIGHT LEARNING COLLECT?
Account Information: When you create an account on Flashlight Learning we collect your name, email address, and password. Flashlight Learning may also collect your phone number if you enter it in your Account Settings or if someone adds it on your behalf with your permission.
Student Voice Recordings and writing responses: Flashlight Learning collects voice recordings and typed responses from students. Teachers grade the student’s written and voice responses. Those scores are stored in Flashlight.
Messages: Flashlight Learning collects all messages that are sent and received between teacher and student in Flashlight Learning. Messages may include text, audio, and notes.
Activities: Teachers may use Flashlight Learning to create activities to use with their students. Activities may include text or voice instructions for how to complete the activity, an example of a correct response or a template for students to edit.
Communications: Flashlight Learning collects any information you send to us directly, such as email, phone, or chat communications.
Information from your Clever or other Third-Party Sign-in Service: Flashlight Learning allows school administrators, teachers, Family Members, and students (after being invited by a teacher) to sign up for and log into our service using Clever, or other account. Teachers can also create student accounts on behalf of students in their class. When we create a Flashlight Learning account using one of these third-party services, we use the name, profile picture, and email address (if available) provided by these services.
Log Data: When you use Flashlight Learning, we receive log data such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, device information, and your mobile carrier. In addition, we may receive or collect additional information such as the referring web page, referring search terms, and pages visited. If you are using Flashlight Learning as a teacher, or school administrator, Flashlight Learning may use your IP address to determine your approximate location for the purposes of sending you customized marketing and other information about our products.
HOW DOES FLASHLIGHT LEARNING USE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION?
We only use this information to provide our services to you. For example, we use this information to:
- Allow you to access and use the Service by verifying your identity and storing your Performance Tasks, Activities, and Messages (collectively, your “Content”).
- Provide support to teachers, school administrators, and Family Members.
- Provide school administrators with aggregate or de-identified information about how Flashlight Learning is performing in their school(s).
- If you’ve enabled notifications, notify you about activity on and updates to your account or your student’s account.
- Research, understand, and analyze user trends to improve and develop new features for our products.
- Promote enhancements to Flashlight Learning relevant for teachers, schools, and families.
- Investigate, prevent, and detect activities on our service that we believe may violate the law, applicable regulations, or Flashlight Learning policies. We may, at the request of a school, investigate accounts to determine whether they comply with school policies.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights. If you would like to exercise any of your California consumer rights, please submit a request to info@flashlight360.com, or send a written request to Flashlight Learning Inc., 12600 Somerdowns Ct Draper, UT 84020. You will be required to verify your identity before we fulfill your request. To do so, you will need to provide us with certain account information. You can also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. To do so, you must provide us with written authorization for the agent to act on your behalf. You will still need to verify your identity directly with us.

For purposes of the CCPA, Flashlight Learning does not “sell” personal information, nor do we have actual knowledge of any “sale” of personal information of minors under 16 years of age.

RIGHTS FOR MINORS TO REMOVE POSTED CONTENT
Where required by law, California residents under the age of 18 may request to have their posted content or information removed from the publicly-viewable portions of the Services by contacting us directly at info@flashlight360.com with a detailed description of the content to be deleted, or by logging into their account and removing the content or information using our self-service tools. Please be aware that such a request does not ensure complete or comprehensive removal of the content or information you have posted and that there may be circumstances in which the law does not require or allow removal even if requested.
