Adding Students

How students are added depends on how your district syncs data.

Clever or ClassLink Rostered Districts

  • Students must first be added to your Student Information System (SIS). Once that change is included in the Clever or ClassLink data share, the student will automatically appear in Flashlight360 during the daily sync.

  • Please allow up to 24 hours for students to appear in Flashlight360 after being confirmed in the data share.

  • Teachers cannot manually add students in districts that roster through Clever or ClassLink.

  • If you believe a student should appear in your class but does not, please see the Missing Students section below or contact our Support team at support@flashlight360.com.

Manually Rostered Districts

  • If your district manages rosters manually, teachers can add students directly within Flashlight360.

Removing Students

How students are removed depends on your district’s rostering method.

Clever or ClassLink Rostered Districts

  • Students must first be removed from your Student Information System (SIS). Once the change is reflected in Clever or ClassLink and the student is no longer included in the data share, they will be removed from Flashlight360 during the next sync.

  • Please allow up to 24 hours for removed students to no longer appear in Flashlight360.

  • If a student still appears on your dashboard after this time, please contact our Support team at support@flashlight360.com.

Manually Rostered Districts

  • If your district manages rosters manually, teachers can remove students directly within Flashlight360.

  • For step by step instructions, see Removing Students in Flashlight360.

  • Please note: This action removes the student from your visibility, but the student account will still exist within your district. If you wish to permanently delete a student, contact our Support team at support@flashlight360.com.



Transferring Students Between Schools within the Same District

Clever or ClassLink Rostered Districts

  • When a student moves between classes or schools within the same district, roster updates happen automatically through Clever or ClassLink during the next sync.

  • Please allow up to 24 hours for transferred students to appear in their new class in Flashlight360 after the change has been reflected in the data share.

  • If a student does not appear in their new class after the sync, please contact our Support team for assistance.

Manually Rostered Districts

  • For districts using manual rostering, teachers or administrators will need to reach out to our Support team at support@flashlight360.com to transfer students within the district.

  • If you have questions about a student transfer or want to confirm how their data will carry over, our Support team is happy to review the situation and provide guidance.



Missing Students

If a student does not appear in Flashlight360:

Clever or ClassLink Rostered Districts

  • Confirm the student is active and properly rostered in your Student Information System (SIS).

  • Allow up to 24 hours for the student to appear in Flashlight360 after being included in the Clever or ClassLink data share.

  • If the student still does not appear after 24 hours, please reach out to our Support team with the student’s district ID number, school, and class so we can investigate.

Manually Rostered Districts

  • For districts that manage rosters manually, please confirm the student has been added to the class in Flashlight360.

  • If the student is still missing from the class roster, please reach out to our Support team at support@flashlight360.com with the student’s district ID number, school, and class so we can investigate.
